Distributing Third-Party Codes with Code Import & Distribution

Introduction

Code Import & Distribution is a promotion type that lets you distribute codes that have already been generated and will be validated outside of Uniqodo,  either your own codes or codes supplied by a third party. When you select this promotion type, Uniqodo does not apply any rewards or validation. The promotion exists purely as a route to distribute the codes through the channels Uniqodo offers.

This is useful when the codes, and the rules governing them, are handled entirely outside the platform. A common example is a staff incentive scheme: a merchant receives a batch of codes from a third-party brand and wants to hand them out to staff one by one, using Uniqodo's distribution methods to deliver them. Because the reward and any validation are dealt with by the third party, none of that takes place in Uniqodo.

Info: Code Import & Distribution is a promotion type, and the codes are managed dynamically afterwards, you can top them up over time. This is different from No Code Distribution, which is a distribution method on a Standard promotion, validates codes against your rules, and accepts only a single fixed upload. If you want Uniqodo to validate your codes, see Distributing Pre-Issued Codes with No Code Distribution instead.

Setting Up a Code Import & Distribution Promotion

  1. Visit https://your.uniqodo.com/ and log in to your account.
  2. Create a new promotion and complete the Main Settings, setting the promotion title, start and end dates, and times as usual.
  3. For Promotion Type, select Code Import and Distribution.
  4. You will notice that some steps you would normally see, such as Rewards and Validation or Qualification Settings, are removed. This is expected, because Uniqodo does not apply rewards or validation to this promotion type.
  5. Complete your Distribution Settings, choosing how the codes will reach customers,  for example by email, HTML button, or an on-site experience.

Important: Uniqodo does not validate codes distributed through this promotion type, and does not check whether a customer qualifies for a reward. Validation and rewards are assumed to be handled outside the platform.

Managing Your Codes in Third Party Codes

Codes for a Code Import & Distribution promotion are managed from a dedicated area, so you can keep them topped up as they are used.

  1. In the left-hand menu, click Settings.
  2. Select Third Party Codes.

Here you will see each uploaded CSV file of codes, showing the file title, the percentage of codes remaining, the total number of codes, and the total codes used.

From this area you can:

  • Upload more files of codes.
  • Add more codes to an existing file. This appends the new codes to the file rather than replacing it.
  • Edit the promotions that those CSV files are related to.

Your code file for this promotion type should be a .csv file with a single column containing one code per row, and no header row.

Keeping this area topped up matters: as codes are used you will request more from your third party and upload them here, so you can continue distributing rewards without interruption.

Summary

Code Import & Distribution lets you distribute your own or third-party codes through Uniqodo's distribution methods without any reward or validation taking place on the platform. Codes are managed dynamically in the Third Party Codes area, where you can monitor usage and top up your code set over time. It suits ongoing scheme,  such as staff incentives, where the codes and their rules are handled externally.
