Getting Started with Experiences

Uniqodo Experiences are designed to drive conversions, increase customer engagement, and protect your promotional strategy. From exit intent popups to upsell nudges and influencer-specific landing pages, Experiences give you precise control over how and when promotional messages are shown to your customers.

Before you can create an Experience, it's important to understand how they work, where to find them, and what you need to get started.

What Are Experiences?

Experiences are dynamic, rule-based onsite messages triggered by customer behaviour. Whether you want to recover an abandoning customer, encourage sign-ups, or support a partner campaign, Experiences let you deliver the right message at the right time—without compromising your promotion strategy.

Each Experience is:

  • Tied to a Promotion: It will only show if the connected promotion is active.

  • Customisable: Choose from a range of templates and modify the design to match your brand.

  • Flexible: Use rules to control when and where it appears, and who sees it.

Experiences & Promotions: How They Work Together

Every Experience must be linked to a Promotion. The Promotion powers the rewards, validation, and logic behind the scenes—without it, the Experience won't function.

Important: If a promotion is deactivated or expires, any linked Experience will stop showing, even if it's still scheduled to run

How much of the promotion you need to set up depends on the type of Experience you’re creating. For example:

  • A exit intent overlay with a reward for 10% Order Discount if they use in in the next 5 minutes, will need a promotion with a unique code, reward and code settings within the promotion.

  • A sign up overlay will just need the schedule dates of the promotion.

Navigating to Experiences

To access Experiences:

  1. Go to Promotion Management.

  2. Select a promotion.

  3. Click the hamburger menu (☰) for that promotion on the right hand side.

  4. Choose "Experiences" from the menu.

  5. You'll see a list of existing Experiences (if any) and the option to Create an Experience.

Each Experience is created and managed within the context of its parent promotion.

The Experience Builder

The builder guides you through 5 key steps:

  1. Templates – Choose your Experience type (e.g. Overlay, Banner).

  2. Design – Customise the look and feel, including images, and messaging.

  3. Rules – Define when, where, and to whom the Experience shows.

  4. A/B Test – Optionally decide the % of qualifying customers see the experience to optimise performance.

  5. Publish – Preview and publish your Experience live.

Note: You can change the template before publishing, but this will reset your design. You won’t be able to change the template once the Experience is live.

Setup Tips

  • Save your designs: If you've edited the design of a template you want to reuse, save it as a new template.

  • Use the copy function: Easily duplicate an Experience you love, including its rules, and apply it to a new promotion.

Integration note: You’ll need to be integrated with Uniqodo to use Experiences. Most setups are straightforward, but your Customer Success Manager will guide you through any advanced features like Data Layer triggers or inline content.
