Issuing a Code Manually (Code Issuance)
In addition to checking a code’s status, authorised users can also issue new codes manually - if the promotion has been configured to allow it.
This is handled through the Code Issuance section, found on the same page as Code Query under Customer Service > Code Query.
Who Can Issue Codes
Manual code issuance is available to users with one of the following roles:
-
Customer Service User
-
Customer Service Manager
-
Customer Service Snr Manager
However, access is only granted if the promotion has been set up to allow it. The promotion creator controls this by adding one or more of the above roles as Tags in the promotion setup.
This helps restrict manual code creation to appropriate users - particularly useful for managing high-value or sensitive campaigns.
How to Issue a Code
-
Go to Customer Service > Code Query in the main navigation.
-
Scroll to the Code Issuance section on the page.
-
Select the relevant promotion from the dropdown list.
-
(Optional) Enter a Customer Identifier to associate the issued code with a specific customer. This is useful for tracking and support purposes. Tethering a code to a Customer ID is required for some advanced features, such as Customer Unique Code Issuance and Secure Promotions.
-
Click Issue Code.
-
A unique code will be generated and displayed below.
Controlling Who Can Issue Codes
Promo codes can only be issued manually if:
-
The promotion is configured to allow it.
-
The user has one of the roles added as a Tag on the promotion setup.
By tagging specific roles (e.g. only “Customer Service Manager”), promotions can limit manual issuance to certain team members - helping to reduce misuse and scale campaign control.
