Rules Step Overview
The Rules step in the Experience Builder defines how, where, and to whom an experience will appear — as well as what happens after someone interacts with it. These rules ensure that experiences are delivered in the right context, at the right time, and to the right audience.
There are four sets of rules available, each accessible via tabs on the Rules step:
| Rule Type | Required? | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule Rules | Yes | Specifies the date, time and days of the week the experience will be active. |
| Display Rules | Yes | Controls where the experience will appear on your site (e.g. URL, page path, query parameters). |
| Audience Rules | No | Optionally set who qualifies for the experience based on user data or traffic source. |
| Behaviour Rules | Yes | Determines what should happen after the user interacts with the experience. |
